In December of 2012, we were shocked to discover that a Marvell Marvell 9100 series of cabinet doors had an issue that prevented them from locking properly.
While the door was in a secure location, the screws on the bolts were not.
This led to the door opening when you were trying to close it, which is not what you want.
We also discovered that the bolts on the front panel were not holding onto the door properly, and we found the screws in the rear panel of the door, which had a tendency to move and break.
After some experimentation and testing, we came up with a solution.
The rear panel was to be fixed with an extra piece of steel to hold the screws, but we were not satisfied with the strength of the weld in the bottom of the cabinet door.
When we installed a piece of galvanised steel onto the top of the panel, it gave us the strength we needed.
However, we wanted to ensure the bolts would hold securely on the door when we were tightening the bolts.
So, we installed another piece of stainless steel into the top and side of the top panel.
It’s a very simple piece of weld weld, which allows for the bolts to hold on when tightening them.
If you have ever seen the door of a kitchen cabinet or car door, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Using a tool such as a drill press and a bit of heat, we could get a bit closer to the bolt and bolt nut and loosen them up.
Once we had these bolts loosened, we tightened them down to about 5mm each.
And that’s it!
With the bolts secured, the bolts will hold on to the panel properly and we won’t have to worry about them opening while the door is closed.
All you need to do is turn on the fan, turn on some light, turn off the lights and you’re ready to enjoy your Marvell’s cabinetry!
The Marvell series are a very popular product, with over 1.5 million sold and a number of different styles, colours and designs.
